Too Cold for Outside

With this crazy arctic blast hitting us it is too cold to go outside, so keeping a busy toddler "busy" all day inside the house can be a challenge! :)  I recently introduced stamps and colors to Ely and he is getting quite good!  We made a picture for Daddy and scribbled on just about every page in the 100 page drawing book :)  The sad face is because I would not let him take the colors on the couch....

I recently got a few ideas from a book called The Busy Toddler.  We haven't tried all the ideas of course, but the first one we tried makes me want to call the book What NOT to do with a Busy Toddler!  I knew playing with water in the kitchen sink would be messy, but I totally underestimated how messy it would be.  There was water ALL over.  Ely thought it was the coolest thing ever, but he wasn't entertained long enough in my mind for the amount of water that accumulated around the kitchen.  We won't be doing that again!  Isn't it hilarious that I thought a bib would prevent him from getting wet.  HA HA!  That makes me laugh.

All we needed was Henry... later in the day I was cooking dinner and heard this soft talking coming from the other room.  It was pitch black in the playroom, but Henry was laying on his back with 4 paws straight up in the air and Ely was rubbing his belly and talking to him.  It was the sweetest thing in the whole world.  By the time I got my camera they were doing their usual rough housing...:)
