Our big boy was a champ at his well visit today! I remember back when he was 18 months old I had so many concerns because he wasn't doing quite a bit of the things listed on the questionnaire they give you to fill out at the pediatrician's office. One of the big areas being his speech. Well after today, I have little to no worries at all! He is excelling in all areas and even Dr. Deuber commented on how far he has come with his language development. The one area we need to work on is his colors. The interesting thing is that he is able to point to the correct color when asked, however when you hold a color up and ask him to verbally say the color, he gets it wrong most of the time. So again, I think this is more of a speech thing than not knowing his colors.. because he clearly knows them. He points to the correct one every time.
Stats -
Height - 37 1/2 - 50th%
Weight - 35.4 - 80th%
His doctor called him "hefty" and "solid". Which is exactly what his teacher said .. he is a tough cookie!
Ely continues to make us laugh with things he says. He tried on some pants yesterday and said.. "these are awesome"
He looked at Daddy's shoes and said "those are cute Daddy"
He told me yesterday that Fynn was his best friend, then changed it later in the day and said Micah (a girl from school) is is best friend.
Yesterday after we left Jenny's house Ely kept asking "why is Zane not going bye bye dinner with us" (I was taking the boys out to eat and he really wanted his friend Zane to come.
Some BIG news..
We started potty training about 2 weeks ago and Ely is handling it SO well and even uses the regular potty with no potty seat! I can't even remember the last time he had a pee pee accident. However, the poo poo is not going to hot. He has yet to go the way he is supposed to on the potty. He wants to stand and I have to hold the little potty under him. He has also had a few accidents in his underwear but I know he will get the hang of it soon.
I was so proud of Ely today. I left him on his own to tackle this art project and look what he made! He put everything in the correct place all by himself!
