Today was a big day for Ely! He started his Tuesday/Thursday 3 week camp at the JCC. This was the first time I have ever dropped him off somewhere else (obviously besides with friends and family) for an extended period of time other than when I would work out at the gym (and my workouts are like 30 min :)).
I am happy and very proud to say that he did GREAT! His teachers are Lori and Ashley, and they were very welcoming when we walked in. They showed me where he cubby was and explained what they would be doing that day. His day invovled singing, swimming, storytime, playing with blocks etc. and lunch. I thought maybe he would cry a little when I left, but he gave me a kiss and said "bye bye" and was off to play! I was surprised... but very relieved!!
When I went to pick him up his teachers said he did really well. They said the only time he cried was when his lunch was brought to him. I packed his lunch, so I know it was what he likes, so the only thing I could think of was that it either reminded him of me, or he was just not used to eating lunch that way. I hope Thurs. is better for him in that regard. I am so proud of our little boy! One more picture :)
