Baby # 2 - 12 Weeks Pregnant

We are so excited to be expecting baby # 2!  Ely is going to make a great big brother... so cute :)
The first trimester is almost over!! That means hopefully I will start to feel better within the next week.  Here is a picture of our sweet baby at 7 weeks.
Thursday we have our 12 week sono and there is a good chance we will find out if we are having a boy or girl!!  It has been a rough few weeks and I am glad to soon be starting my 2nd trimester.  The nausea started way back over Christmas when I was only 5 weeks! It progressed to throwing up everyday around 7 weeks.  Then at 8 weeks I came down with a really bad cold that turned into a middle ear infection in my left and right ear.  It got so bad that my eardrum ruptured!  Let me just say.. that is uber painful!!  At that same time my morning sickness (all day sickness) went to an all time high.  I had days that I could not keep anything down.  I was prescribed 2 different pills and suppositories to help me from getting dehydrated.  Meanwhile, Mark is preparing for Super Bowl, the busiest he has ever been his whole career, and I am at home crying to him "take me to the hospital"!!!  There were some days I just prayed and prayed to get through it!  Thank you Baba (Mark's Mom) for taking care of me and making tons of soup!  As things got busier for Mark, he started leaving before I woke up in the morning and coming home after I went to bed.  Luckily I had a trip booked to San Antonio for the Super Bowl weekend.  Then came the ice and snow and I thought to myself "if I don't get the hell out of here, I will have to be committed to the loony hospital".   Somehow I was on the only fight that wasn't delayed.  I barely made my flight b/c I had a Dr. apt beforehand ( Ely and I heard the baby's heartbeat!).  Even though my wonderful husband :) owns a limo company, I had to drive myself to the airport.  I sprinted from the parking garage pushing Ely in his stroller and rolling our bag behind us.. oh and not trying to slip on ice.  Once I got to San Antonio... I DID NOTHING!!!  It was awesome!!  Now I am back, Mark is sitting here with me, and life is feeling back to normal!  My nausea comes and goes but I haven't thrown up in almost a week!!  My eardrum is still pretty messed up unfortunetley.  It was supposed to heal by now, so I am going to see an ENT ASAP.   But other than that life is good!!!

  1. Wow, Jaime. You have really been through the wringer. We are SO THRILLED for you guys about baby number two, and are really hoping your eardrum heals soon--although maybe if it stays jacked up you won't be able to hear the crying quite as loudly . . . ;)
