Pretend Play

A few weeks ago I noticed Ely starting to "pretend play" with his kitchen.  He likes to stir things, set his timer, and then come and feed me his concoction.  Now he has taken this one step further with his milk :)  He likes to drop some milk on the giant spoon and try to feed me.  Yummy!

                                Then he wanted me to drink from his sippy cup.  I pretended :)

Here he is carrying his snack and two cups.  And I used to worry that he would never take to the sippy cup!!

Now on a misbehaving note... I think our terrible 2's have begun.  He has been testing me so much lately and in return has gotten two time outs in one week!  That is alot being that he has only been to time out once before.  The first time out was because he threw a full bowl of spaghetti across the kitchen which instantly reminded me of the massive cake fight we adults had after Mark's B-day party.  Needless to say, just like with the cake, I am still finding red spots around the kitchen days later!  The 2nd time out came when I repeatedly told him to stop shaking the baby gate (he hates when it is closed, so he throws a fit and shakes it as hard as he can.  Think caged animal :) ) and finally damaged the wall as I kept telling him to stop.  Today he got cutsie with his not listening to Mama. This time I had to turn my head not to smile.  He was banging his cell phone against the glass door.  I gave him some warnings but when he did not stop I took the phone away.  He wasn't upset I took it away, but went right back to the glass door and started banging on it with his fist.  He looked over at me and started laughing really hard.  Of course I had to turn my head so he wouldn't see me smile. :)  We have a little terrorist on our hands!!!!
