Long Day

What a long day!  For some reason I still have not figured out, Ely woke up yesterday and this morning at 6am on the dot crying really hard.  Since we have guests in our house, I tried to get to him pretty quickly instead of giving it my usual 5 to 10 min to see if he will settle back down and go to sleep.  Mark is out of the country so I am on duty 24/7, and as I stumble to his room this morning I realize I have a killer sore throat... ugh!!  So I get the little guy out of his crib and try to rock him, but he wants to play with my glasses, hair, nose, ears... I will NOT start our day at 6, so I took him to our bed and turned on the Elmo video thinking I could get a little more rest.  This is greatness... I grab his hand to hold it while I am laying next to him, and that very second he lifts my hand by one of my fingers and places it back on my chest!  My baby doesn't want to hold my hand!  And so deliberately delivers my hand back to me!  I felt so rejected! lol. Rest no more, 2 minutes later he jumped off the bed and landed on Henry while he was sleeping, thinking it was hilarious.  The poor dog had a rude awakening just like I did!

As expected, he was a fussy mess all day today but we made the most of it and tried to have a good time.  It was Jennifers B-day today, so Cody and I made cupcakes to surprise her.  I was icing them, and apparently left one too close to the edge for the eating machine to have his way with

Lately, when I try to tell him "no" he either runs from me OR he runs up to me and kisses me.  How does he already know how to kiss up?   He ended up running off with icing everywhere, so I ran after him and I got a big icing kiss right on the lips!

Not quite tall enough, but just tall enough to do some damage.  Anything for food!
