Where did the 18th month go???? NOOO! How can I stop the time now??! This month has brought about many changes in the way of communication for Ely. He is talking non-stop! Not that I can understand most of what he is saying yet, but he is just jibber jabbering all day long and then will look at me like I should totally understand what he said. He is an expert at saying NO. He even shoves my hand away and says "no" when I am trying to give him something he doesn't want... we are working on the hand shove :)
He said Turtle a bunch of times the other day so it was exciting to hear him say a more complex word.
He has become such a flirt in public! He plays peek a boo with strangers and gives them his most precious, devilish smile. Mama gets to talk to WAY more strangers than she would like :) Ely now only has a handful of books he will let us read to him. He prefers about 5 out of his 20 books, and when we try to read a different one other than one of the 5 favs he shoves our hand away and says "no". He knows what he wants that's for sure.. but that is nothing new!
I got a new phone, so I keep my old blackberry charged for him (yes, our 19 month old has a blackberry, God help us!! :) ) He walks around holding it to his ear and talks. Every now and then he says "yeah, yeah" to the "pretend" person on the other end. It makes me laugh so so hard! He has also begun to "pretend play" with his kitchen. He puts different food in a pot, uses a spoon to stir it around and then sets the timer. Once the timer rings, he gets a small spoon and brings it over and feeds me his concoction.
I just know these next few months are going to bring about so many other changes very quickly! He is such a sweet, funny, and smart little boy. We are so lucky!
