Big Boy and his Spoon

One milestone after another!  About a week ago, Ely started refusing to let us feed him with a spoon - he wanted to feed himself.  At first he would hold the spoon backwards, and it was a complete mess!  If we tried to intervene, a loud screech was sure to follow.  So, we just had to be patient and let him figure it out.  He has come a long way in a week.  Still messy of course, but not as messy and he holds the spoon correctly, and actually scoops up the food!  He is growing up SO fast.

After breakfast he plays by himself in the play room while I eat.  Today, he decided to find the tissue box hidden behind the TV, and remove every tissue from the box.  After that mission was accomplished, he proceeded to start the shredding process.  When I found him, I told him that was a "no" (meanwhile trying not to laugh) and asked him to help me pick up the mess.  To my surprise he did just that!  He picked up as many pieces as he could and put them each in my hand.  We were almost finished and he spotted another small piece in the corner.  I said "did you find another one?"  He said "yeah" very clearly and brought it over to me.
