Trick or Treating!

Today wasn't Ely's first Halloween, but it was his first time to trick or treat.  Somehow he already knew what to do before we even got started!  He was very excited to get the the trick or treating started so he went over to our coat closet to get Mommy's shoes.

Elmo was very protective of his candy bucket.  It got pretty heavy for him but he wouldn't surrender it.  Mark and I were amazed at the fact that he would walk up to the door, make sure to set his candy bucket down, grab the candy out of the person's hand or bucket, and then put it in his bucket.  He would proceed to pick his bucket up, swiftly turn around and head to the next house.  He is 17 months old!  How does he know how to do this?!  I thought we would be holding his bucket, grabbing the candy for him, and guiding him to the next house.  We did none of the above !!

Just a little breather.. Elmo was hot and that bucket was getting heavy! We also discovered candy :)

We have so many kids in our neighborhood! The street behind us had a block party and barricaded the street.  Kids were running around everywhere and parents were walking around with wine and beer.  Mark and I decided we should try to get people together on our street and do the same next year.

A tired but happy Elmo

Walking home was the only time he wanted to be carried.  But he insisted on still holding his candy bucket
